Smitten with Spring!

Spring in Tucson, AZ is hands-down my favorite time of year here. The cactuses start to bloom, the farmers’ markets are full of fresh local produce, and the sunsets? Absolutely unreal.

And this spring feels extra special because we decided to surprise our grands… with 31 baby chicks. Yes, you read that right- THIRTY ONE. Ha! Go big or go home, right?

We’ve all been completely smitten. Most have names now—Haddy, Domino, Dot, Hamster, Pigeon, Pam, Mikey, Road Runner… just to name a few.

My sweet husband and my sons-in-law have been working overtime building a coop for them, and I’m pretty sure they’re questioning my life choices at this point- it’s been a bit more work than expected. But someday soon, they’ll be enjoying all the eggs these little cuties will provide.

And honestly, that’s what I love most about this season- everything feels full of life, a little chaotic, and really, really sweet.
