For the past two years I’ve been using our dining room as my art studio and it’s worked well. It’s a decent sized room, with good light and high ceilings. And I’m a firm believer that you can create magic anywhere!
I’ve lined my main painting areas with the Home Depot drop cloths so I don’t need to worry about paint on the Saltillo Tile floors or the walls.

I added a mood board to pin up misc. things that I cherish and that inspire me. Which includes some ornaments I’ve made along with this amazing owl ornament by Elizabeth Roberts. A portrait of me by my friend Charlotte Hamilton. Paint swatches and other fun bits and bobbles.

I have lots of little boxes & containers to try to stay organized. But somehow it always still manages to become a big mess.
We are currently in the middle of building me a separate studio space above our garage. I can NOT wait! The dining room has served me well but I am looking forward to getting more situated and having a bit of space to spread out. Along with being away from all the distractions a dining room in the middle of a home comes with.
I look forward to sharing it with you soon (hopefully!).
