Creative Treasures in the Red Rocks

Our family recently took a trip to Sedona, Arizona—one of the most breathtaking places on earth. With five grands, plenty of hiking, and endless exploring, I knew I wouldn’t have much time to paint. So instead, I went with a different kind of creative intention: to collect inspiration.

Armed with my camera and curiosity, I treated the trip like a big creative scavenger hunt—snapping photos of color combinations, textures, shapes, and anything that caught my eye. The rust-red cliffs against turquoise skies, the soft greens of desert plants, even the shadows on the canyon walls—each moment was a palette waiting to happen.

It reminded me that creativity doesn’t always mean producing. Sometimes, it’s about noticing. Gathering. Filling up the well so that when the time does come to create, you’re overflowing with inspiration.

Sedona gave me that in abundance—and maybe a few new color palettes I can’t wait to explore back in the studio. ❤️🎨
