Color Hunting in Lisbon

On my recent trip to Portugal to teach an art retreat, I arrived a few days early and spent them wandering Lisbon.

When I travel, I love to treat it like a treasure hunt—ducking down side streets, peeking into alleys, wandering neighborhoods where locals live. I’m on the lookout for street art, unexpected color combinations, interesting shapes, and anything that makes me stop and say wow.

Lisbon did not disappoint. Here are some of my favorite color inspirations from my wanderings—little gems that will definitely make their way into future projects.
