20 Days of Birds and the Power of a Creative Habit

I thought I’d share a little recap of my first 20 days of the #100DayProject this year.

In case you’re new to it, the project is something anyone can participate in. It’s a big creative collective that happens on IG & FB, with people joining from all over the world. Everyone chooses their own idea, theme, and parameters, and then shares their progress for 100 days. This year it started on February 22.

For my project, I decided to break the 100 days into five categories:

20 days of birds (along with sharing 20 days of my handmade mug collection),
20 days of faces,
20 days of cats,
20 days of fish, and
20 days of flowers.

I’m also attempting something new for me this year- 100 consecutive days.

The first 20 days are all birds, and I have to say… so far, so good.

One of the things I love about this project is how much it helps you grow. It’s great for developing your style, building a creative habit, and even strengthening that mental muscle that says just keep going. For me, one of the biggest lessons has been simply finishing pieces. Not overthinking them, not abandoning them halfway through- just finishing.

If you’ve ever thought about doing a project like this, I would highly recommend it. There’s something really powerful about committing to a daily creative practice and seeing where it takes you.
